Or maybe you're a fan of Mesoamerican history and archeology, and not a day goes by when Chichen Itza, Palenque, and Tulum are in the back of your mind. Or maybe you just want to get away from it all and just laze away in secret beach tucked away in the Maldives or Tahiti for a week or two. Can you picture the turquoise waters and the fine white sand? I bet you could, and you're dying to go there right now.
But the problem is (and it is always THE problem) you don't have a lot of disposable income. You're working full-time, but there are months when you can't even make ends meet. So, you put that dream off and try to save as much as you can whenever there's a chance.

Evolution Travel is a partner of a company called Archer Travel. According to its introduction on the Evolution Travel page, Archer Travel Service, Inc. has been around since 1952. It is owned by Ron Archer and is based in Glendale, California. It specializes in group travel, travel clubs, and corporate travel.
Ron Archer has a long history when it comes to travel. He used to work at The Signature Travel Network as a Board of Director. He also worked as an advisor for cruise lines and tour operators.
Evolution Travel, on the other hand, is owned by Las Vegas-based businessman David McCovy. McCovy, according to his bio on the website, has founded various businesses including a restaurant, a clothing store, and more.
Who Are The People Behind Evolution Travel?
The persons behind Evolution Travel are David McCovy and Ron Archer. Let's talk about McCovy first.
According to his bio, this is not the first time David McCovy founded an enterprise. He has already founded several business ventures, including a clothing store, a concert company, and more. What happened to these business ventures are unclear.
His preferred business model seems to be multi-level marketing. He used to work as an independent affiliate for multi-level marketing company 5Linx. He even achieved the senior vice president level around 2014.
He then joined Paycation, a company with almost the same business model as Evolution Travel. This complaint-ridden company has since rebranded to TraVerus. McCovy founded Evolution Travel after he cut ties with Paycation/TraVerus.
Ron Archer is another businessman affiliated with McCovy and Evolution Travel. He has been working in the travel business for more many years. He is also connected with MLM.
Evolution Travel is registered with the Better Business Bureau. It has an A+ rating, but the reviews are mixed. On the positive side, some affiliates said that Evolution Travel changed their lives, and it has helped them earn more money than before.
But some affiliates didn't seem impressed with Evolution Travel. Some claim that it was difficult for her to cancel her membership and claim a refund. Some customers said that the company was unable to deliver promised services.

How Much to Join Evolution Travel?
To join Evolution Travel as a home-based affiliate, all you need to do is sign up as a professional travel agent. The professional travel agent (PTA) package costs $49. The original PTA fee is $299, but it has been slashed to $49.
Think it's going to be that easy? Sadly, no. The $49 is just a one-off payment. You're going to pay another $69.95 for the monthly administration fee.
So, what will you get when you become an Evolution Travel professional travel agent? As a professional travel agent, you'll get 90% commission for every successful sale. You'll also get a customizable website, direct access to travel vendors, and training with the leading travel experts.
You'll get up to 60% discount on movie tickets, dining, and more thanks to your affiliation with Evolution Travel. You'll also get some benefits and other perks. Evolution Travel also promises that you'll receive residual income with its compensation plan.
What is Evolution Travel's Compensation Plan?
Before we get down to the compensation plan, let's discuss Evolution Travel's ranks.
All new Evolution Travel professional travel agents are called Consultants. Consultants who have sold three professional travel agent packages become Executive Consultants.
Those who have sold six professional travel event packages are promoted to Bronze Consultant. Sold nine PTA packages? Then get ready to become a Silver Consultant.
Gold Consultants are people have sold fifteen PTA packages. They also have three Silver Consultants in three separate legs in their team.
A PTA who has sold 300 packages or more is eligible to become a Platinum Consultant. This is the highest rank you can achieve with Evolution Travel. Whether this is impossible or not, it's entirely up to you.
Now on to the commissions you'll receive.
Consultants can earn as much as 90% commission for every commissionable transaction booked by their customers. This includes any cruise, hotel, car, or packaged tours.
If you are the booking consultant, then you're eligible to receive as much as 80% commission. Let's say that you're the person who sponsored the booking consultant. You'll also receive a 10% commission for every hotel, cruise, car, or package tour booked.
Some high-ranking consultants are eligible for residual commissions. These ranks include 3 Star Platinum, Gold, Executive, Silver Bronze, and Platinum. The deadline for residual commissions is at 9 PM (PST), on the last day of the qualifying month.
These bonuses are paid every month, but keep in mind that only Gold and Platinum consultants are eligible for this type of bonus. Gold and Platinum consultants also need to maintain their rank throughout the qualifying month.
Consultants who have reached the Gold level automatically receive 20,000 shares. They receive additional 20,000 shares when they reach the Platinum level. But they need to maintain the rank for three consecutive months to be eligible.
Monthly Bonuses for Platinum Ranks
Consultants who have reached the Platinum ranks will receive a monthly bonus. But they are required to sell a specific number of the package first before they qualify for a monthly bonus. Platinum PTAs can earn as much as $100,000 every month.
For every $99 sale, $1 will be contributed to Evolution Travel's scholarship pool. This will be given to eligible consultants twice a year.
Keep in mind that you need to be an active consultant for 6 consecutive months to qualify. You or your child (or any family member) should also be enrolled in college or high school. Only those who have reached Executive Consultant level and above are qualified
Additional Recognition and Incentives
Reach 3 Star Platinum and be eligible to receive a Breitling watch. Consultants are also eligible to receive a ring based on their monthly residual income. Let's say your monthly residual income reached $8,333. This makes you eligible for a 100K ring. If your monthly income reached $83,333, then you are eligible for a 1 mil ring.

What Products Does Evolution Travel Offer?
There are two ways you can earn as an Evolution Travel PTA. First is by selling other companies' products because Evolution Travel does not have its own set of products to offer. What it offers instead are travel deals and tour packages from affiliated companies in the hospitality industry. These include discounts on hotels, cruises, car rental, and events.
The second way to make money with Evolution Travel is by becoming a professional travel agent and recruiting others to become a part of your downline. You earn a commission from every successful sale made by your team members.
What I Like About Evolution Travel
Evolution Travel's concept is pretty good -- if done right. Here are some things I like about it.
Positive reviews from some PTAs and customers
Evolution Travel has been around since 2015 and is registered with the Better Business Bureau. It has a stellar rating from customers and affiliates despite a handful of complaints. Which is not too shabby considering other MLMs' reputation are in tatters after several years have passed.
But be cautious. When it comes to opinions from faceless strangers on the internet, always take it with a grain of salt. Who knows? Maybe the company just paid their affiliates in exchange for good reviews to boost its reputation.
Backed by a more established company
Evolution Travel is affiliated with Ron Archer's Archer Travel Service, Inc., a company that has been around since 1952. Although it is not as popular as other travel agencies, Archer Travel can hold its own against the competition. It offers tailored vacations, such as tropical vacations, luxurious escapes, rivers cruises, and more. That is why Evolution Travel has a lot to offer thanks to its partnership with this bigger, more established company.
What I Don't Like About Evolution Travel
The registration and monthly fees are expensive
The PTA package originally costs $299. It's on sale right now and has been slashed down to $49. The fee gives you access to professional travel agent training. You will also be eligible to receive up to 90% in commissions with every successful by you or your downline.
But wait, there's more! Fees, that is. Apart from the one-time registration fee, consultants are also required to pay for a monthly administration fee which costs almost $70.
In my opinion, that is not practical. If your dream is to go on a luxury cruise or see and experience Paris, it's more practical to put that $69.95 to your travel fund. You only have to wait for several months or years before you can save enough to travel to your dream destination.
Let's say you're traveling to Paris. You can score flights for as low as $400 if you don't mind long layovers and multiple airport transfers. There are even flights with just a single layover that costs more than $800. If you're on a tight budget, go for hostels or Airbnb.
This kind of business is not viable in the long run
With the popularity of Skyscanner, FareCompare, Booking.com, Agoda, and other aggregator websites among millennials and Gen Zs, your business will not be viable in the long run. Maybe this type of business will appeal to more well-heeled boomers or Gen Xers who still want luxury escapades and convenient albeit conventional vacations.
This, however, doesn't appeal to the younger demographic who are often on a tight budget, would rather backpack across Europe or Southeast Asia, and are looking for authentic experiences.
Multiple complaints from affiliates and customers
While it's true that Evolution Travel has a stellar reputation among affiliates and customers alike, there's no denying the fact that there are some negative things about it. One of the most common things customers complain about is the affiliates inability to deliver on their promises and lack of communication.
The multi-level marketing business model
Evolution Travel's concept is good and can be lucrative if done right. Who doesn't want to travel, right? In this day and age, #travelgoals is all you see on social media, on blog posts, and Youtube videos.
But MLM had to rear its ugly head and ruin everything. Instead of working hard to save up for your dream vacation or worrying whether you want to be stuck in Dubai or Amsterdam for your connecting flight, you have to worry about hounding another customer to purchase another tour package or calling your cousin for the sixth time because she promised you she'd join Evolution Travel too.
Is Evolution Travel A Scam?
I don't believe Evolution Travel is a scam. Saving up for your dream destination by working as a professional travel agent for Evolution Travel can be a good concept.
I just don't believe it's for everyone as the demographic with purchasing power is rapidly changing. Plus, it's expensive. The monthly administration fee costs almost $70, and that's too steep. In my opinion, you're better off putting that money in your travel fund. Who knows? With enough money saved up, you can finally go to Morocco or Santorini in a few months or a couple of years.
Is Evolution Travel worth your time and money? Sadly, no.
