Back when you were single, your Google searches were always about the best tapas or French restaurant in your city or the date when your favorite will drop by your city for their gig. You're even updated about the dates when your favorite clothing brand has a sale.

This is not the case anymore now that you're married and have a kid or two. Now you're more interested in finding restaurants that are kid-friendly, daycare centers, summer camps, and all that stuff. You are also more interested earning additional cash to ensure that you can buy your kids anything they want.

There's this app called Kidazzler that may just be the answer to your prayers.

If you have seen this app making the rounds in your newsfeed or someone texted a link to you and you're curious about Kidazzler, then this review is for you.

What is Kidazzler and How Does It Work?

According to its blog, Kidazzler is a members-only directory and app where parents can get resources on and contribute kid-friendly business listing. In simpler terms, this app utilizes crowdsourcing to find the most kid-friendly businesses in the country. It is available on Google Play and the App Store.

But if you already know how to use Google, then what's in it for you?

What makes Kidazzler different from Google or Yelp is that you, the parent and contributor, can profit from the business listing that you have contributed to the website. Just add a new business to the app, and it will be automatically locked in your name.

All you need to provide to the app is the business name, its address, and its contact number. Other contributors will not be able to add it to the app again because it is already "locked" in your name. You alone can earn commissions every time someone finds that business and uses its services.

This commission is taken from Kidazzler's monthly advertising revenues. This means that your earnings will depend on how many businesses you add to the app. The more businesses you contribute to the app, the higher your commissions. The commissions are paid out every month.

For now, Kidazzler is only open for parents living in the United States and Canada. Kidazzler, however, has plans to expand to countries outside North America. Plus, you need to be 18 years old or older so you can join and lock business under your name. Members of your family/household can have their own Kidazzler account, but keep in mind that each user only must have a single Kidazzler account.

What is Kidazzler's Compensation Plan?

Now, on to the most important part: the compensation plan. So when and how are you going to get paid?

Keep in mind that you will only earn commissions when the business you have contributed to Kidazzler starts to advertise on the app. This compensation plan is what Kidazzler calls "Shared Revenue Model."

Remember that the payment will be processed the following month, and it will show up on the Kidazzler Wallet. This where contributors can see their actual earnings, as well as view different options to redeem their commissions.

According to Kidazzler, payment through PayPal and Venmo are still in the works. But in the future, options such as a direct deposit to your bank account, gift cards, and more will also be available.

You can add your PayPal or Venmo account through the app or the website. Keep in mind that you may still need to pay taxes on your earnings. Check local laws to see if you need to pay taxes.

Other Things You Need to Know About Kidazzler

You can lock in businesses with multiple locations

What if you want to contribute that has multiple locations (fast-food restaurants, clothing retailers, etc.)?

The good news is you can still do so even if someone has already added a similar business as long as the location is different. You should also make sure that the phone number you're going to provide is unique so the business can be "locked" to you.

There's a limit of businesses you can contribute to Kidazzler

Each member can only "lock" 140 businesses under their name. This equals to up $1,400 worth of commissions per month.

But keep in mind that you can't go beyond 140 business as the creators of Kidazzler do not want any particular member to claim ALL the commissions themselves and not share it to the community.

It has a referral program

Referring other parents to Kidazzler can be lucrative thanks to its referral program. Simply refer your friends to the app, so they, too, can earn commissions under Kidazzler's Shared Revenue Model.

Membership is by invitation only

You must be invited by another Kidazzler member to be eligible to join the community. You'll receive an invitation link or code in your email, phone or social networking sites. Simply click this link and register to join the community.

You can also invite your friends via the app or the website. Simply click the Invite Friends tab, copy the link, and send via email or text messages. You can also paste it on your blog or social media pages.

Establishment owners can "claim" their businesses

Business owners can "claim" their listings. This is just to verify that the establishment exists. When you add an establishment, they are automatically contacted by Kidazzler so they can verify their listings. Once they are verified, it will be marked as "Claimed" by Kidazzler.

What I Like About Kidazzler

Special app developed especially for parents and kids

Imagine not being able to find a great summer camp or a daycare center in your city. That's why parents are always on the lookout for kid-friendly establishments.

The good news is parents can now easily find these places online thanks to the Kidazzler app and website. Simply open the app, input your keywords, and voila! You'll be presented with a myriad of choices when it comes to kid-friendly activities, restaurants, camps, clothing retailers, and more.

No membership fees

Have you ever been excited about a certain money-making opportunity only to be disappointed because you need to pay X amount of money for the membership fee? Well, Kidazzler is different. Joining as a contributing member is 100% free, so you can focus on adding businesses and locking them under your name. Plus, you'll get paid when the business you have added begins advertising on the app.

What I Don't Like About Kidazzler

Kind of useless especially when parents can easily Google information

Make no mistake. Kidazzler is a fantastic idea. With just one tap on your phone, you can summon several business names that provide pre and postpartum services, maternity counseling, daycare centers, and fitness classes. But all of these businesses are already in Google or Bing or Yahoo or any kind of search engine you're currently using, so this double listing on a little-known app is kind of moot at this point. But who knows? Maybe Kidazzler can pull it off because this is a pretty specialized niche.

Most of the businesses in your area have probably been locked by someone else

The good news is it's free to join Kidazzler and your potential to earn commissions is limitless. Chancers are, however, there is someone else in your area who might have already locked the businesses you've been trying to add in Kidazzler under their names. That can be frustrating if you've spent many hours compiling your list of businesses.

Bad reviews from app users

There are a lot of people who love the Kidazzler app, but there are many who are just disappointed with it. It has a 3.8 average rating on the Google Play Store. It fared better on the App Store with a 4.4 rating.

Most of the users complained that the app is buggy or it's too hard to get paid after you've added the business listings on the app. Some have also complained that almost all businesses in their areas have been added on the app already and there's nothing left for them to add.

You are going to do most of the grunt work here but there's no assurance you're going to make money

A lot of users have complained that even though they have added 20, 50, or 80 businesses, not one of the businesses they have added has "claimed" or had agreed to advertise on Kidazzle. That's too bad because even though you've done the grunt work for Kidazzler, there's no chance you're going to get paid as long as the business does not agree to advertise with the app.

Is Kidazzler A Scam?

I don't think that Kidazzler is a scam. I think the app wasn't fully well-thought-out, especially in the age of Google, Yelp, Bing, and other search engines and aggregators where you can easily find any information you want.

Plus, there's a high probability that the business you want to add has already been added by someone else. If you want to earn additional cash regularly, then Kidazzler is probably not the way to go.
