Trevo Summary

Company: Trevo

Price to join: $20 + PowerStart Enrollment kit (costs several hundreds)

Rating: 30/100

Do I recommend? No!

Summary: Trevo is a pretty standard health and wellness MLM and is a lot like a few others that I have reviewed.

This really isn't a compliment and this is a company that I don't recommend you join. The main reason is the success rate is way to low and most people will just end up losing money and not make any.

What is Trevo?

What Is Trevo? Trevo is a MLM company that was founded in 2010. They sell various health and wellness products and they're most known for their juice (named Trevo).

What kind of business is Trevo? Trevo is a MLM which means multi-level marketing. MLM's are extremely flawed and require you to recruit people to make money.

How do you make money with Trevo? There's two ways to make money with this company: selling products to customers directly and recruiting others to sell under you. The latter is much more profitable than the former.

Do Trevo products work? This one is tough to answer. I'm sure they give you about as much benefit as any other kinds of "super" juice. But I wouldn't expect any life changing results from their products. It's been proven that their products contain lead as well which IS NOT GOOD.

Are there any lawsuits against this company? MLM's tend to attract lawsuits and Trevo is no different. In 2017 Truth in Advertising accused Trevo of misleading income claims. The Environmental Research Center sued Trevo for not letting customers know there's lead in their products.

What are similar companies? Purium, Kannaway, Juice Plus

Is Trevo A Pyramid Scheme?

Trevo isn't a pyramid scheme but does have elements of one.

Look at this picture to understand what I'm saying:

This is what part of the commission structure at Trevo looks like and it's the part that has to do with recruiting.

A pyramid scheme is when there's no products to sell and the only way to make any money is through recruitment.

While recruitment is incentivized in Trevo it's not the only way you can make money. Trevo has legitimate products to offer and you can sell them directly to customers for a commission (without recruiting).

Ask anyone that makes money with Trevo, though, and they'll tell you the only way to make a lot is through recruiting and building a downline.

Success Is Rare At Trevo

Some MLM's have what's known as an income disclosure where you can look at how many people are making money and how many are losing money. It usually tells you what percent are making certain amounts as well.

I've never seen a positive income disclosure in my life for a MLM and the only thing worst than a bad income disclosure is not having one at all - Trevo doesn't have one available or at least not one I could find.

Here's some MLM stats that should scare you away from Trevo, though:

As you can see MLM's are just not worth the headache and is a horrible business model.

How Much To Join Trevo?

Trevo is reasonably affordable to join but it definitely has some hidden costs.

There's an initial $20 fee to join but you also have to buy a pack of products to start off and they can get pricey.

Here's what you have to choose from:

  • PS1 1 Bottle System ($72)
  • PS2 PowerStart System ($170)
  • PS2 Exposure Pack ($170)
  • PS3 Director PowerStart System ($302)
  • PS4 Elite Director PowerStart System ($425)
  • PS5 Executive PowerStart System ($665)
  • PS6 Elite Executive PowerStart System ($980)

I would definitely avoid the more expensive packs until you know Trevo is a company you want to work for in the long term and after you've had some successes.

What Is Trevo's Compensation Plan?

MLM compensation plans are never easy to understand and unless you're familiar with the technical jargon you can get lost pretty quickly.

If you want to read the entire Trevo compensation plan, click here.

You can watch an entire video of the compensation below:

Instead of going over every detail of the compensation plan, I'm going to go over the most important parts.

Affiliate Ranks

At Trevo there's 21 different affiliate ranks you can obtain and you move from one to another by selling Trevo products, recruiting people, building your downline and having your team sell a certain amount of products.

The first rank is Affiliate and this is when you sign up and buy your enrollment pack. The next rank is Bronze and you get this when you buy a more expensive enrollment pack and generate 20,000 GV (Group Volume) a month from your downline.

The last rank you can reach is the Black Diamond Grand Elite and this happens when your downline generates 15,000,000 in GV a month.

The last rank is essentially impossible to reach and frankly speaking most people don't get past the first rank.

Retail Commissions

At Trevo you get a certain percentage of every sale made to a customer and you get a percentage of what your downline sells as well.

Recruitment Bonuses

You also get paid for building your downline and getting people to sell underneath you. How much you get depends on the enrollment pack a new affiliate purchases when they sign up.

You can make anywhere from $12 to $228 on personally recruited affiliates and you also earn smaller commissions when your downline recruits people.

Residual Commissions

Residual commissions are the commissions you earn when your downline sells products. The payout is unilevel which looks like the following:

You can earn up to 8 levels in your downline. How many levels you can earn from depends on your PV (Personal Volume).

Rank Achievement

You get a bonus when you advance to the Bronze and Platinum ranks. You earn $500 for hitting these ranks.

Smaller Bonuses

There's various smaller bonuses you can earn as well but they're not really that important (they're more important if you advance in the program).

What Products Does Trevo Offer?

Trevo is famous for their Trevo juice but there's a few other products they sell that are lesser known.

Trevo is what you'll be mostly selling, though:

Trevo Juice

Trevo Juice is very expensive and costs $59.99 for one bottle of 32 ounce juice. Two bottles cost $109

This juice apparently comes with over 100 ingredients but like I proved up top there's also lead in them.

Trevo Is Very Expensive

At the end of the day Trevo products have to be sold for you to make any money (whether it's you selling or your downline selling).

How easy do you think it's going to be to sell $59 juice? How many people in your life have that type of money to spend on juice?

You're going to have a very difficult time selling Trevo because of this price. This is another reason why so little amount of people succeed with Trevo.

Their products are overpriced and it's a very crowded market - everyone already has their favorite health products and juices.

This is something to keep in mind if you're thinking of joining Trevo.

What I Like About Trevo

There's not much I like about Trevo but there is one thing I like:

  • Been around for nearly 10 years: MLM's are notoriously volatile and tend to only last a couple of years. The fact Trevo has been around for 10 years at least shows it's stable.

What I Don't Like About Trevo

There's way more not to like here than like and the main things I dislike are:

  • Expensive products: Juice that costs $59 per bottle is personally way too much for me and I'm betting most people will also think that way.
  • Low success rate: MLM's are basically impossible to succeed with and somewhere between 75% to 99% lose money and not make money.
  • Bothering friends and family: One of the worst parts of a MLM is you'll have to bother friends and family which can literally ruin relationships.

Is Trevo A Scam?

So.. is Trevo a scam?

I actually don't think it's a scam but I do think it's a horrible business opportunity.

A scam would be if you're being misled about the business or being lied to about the compensation plan.

Trevo doesn't do that. They have products, they have a compensation plan and it's up to you to make money.

Chances are, though, you're going to lose your money which is why I consider this a horrible opportunity.

Here's A Better Opportunity

My advice for you would be to skip Trevo.
