Blue Ocean Ecommerce, created by Nate Schmidt, sells various courses..

If you're thinking about purchasing one you're probably wondering if they're a scam or not.

That's what this review will answer.

Below you'll find everything you need to know about Blue Ocean Ecommerce including background information, price to join, a look at what you're getting and more.

You'll know if their programs are worth buying by the time you're done.

Let's get into it!

Ecommerce Business Blueprint Summary

Creator: Nate Schmidt

Price to join: $47 to $2987 (depending on course)

Do I recommend? No

   Overall rating: 3/5

Blue Ocean Ecommerce has a few different courses you can buy.. all at different prices.

There's a cheap ecommerce course for $47, a Facebook Ads course for $497 and a larger ecommerce course that costs $2987.

While I think the training is decent I would skip over these courses.

The cheap course isn't enough to bring you success and the other courses are too expensive.

I'd just get a high quality training with everything in one place instead of spreading it out over 3 different courses.

Better opportunity: My favorite ecommerce course is Ecom Elites. It has extremely high quality training and only costs between $197 to $297. To learn more, click below:

Who Is Nate Schmidt?

Nate Schmidt is the creator of Blue Ocean Ecommerce.

There's not really a ton of information out there about him besides his Youtube channel which is doing well.

At the moment it has over 40,000 subscribers which is pretty impressive.

He seems to upload a handful of times a month and gets around 10k views per video.

His videos are mostly informational in nature.

According to Nate he has made millions from ecommerce.

I really can't tell you how accurate this is, though. You should never trust what someone on the internet says they're making.

Blue Ocean Ecommerce Courses

There's a few different courses offered by Nate and they all cover different topics.. and have different price tags.

Here's a look at the different programs you can buy from Blue Ocean:

B.O.S.S Builder Course ($2987)

The first course we're going to look at is the B.O.S.S. Builder training.

B.O.S.S. is the most expensive and largest offer Nate has.

It's a complete ecommerce course that comes with 1 on 1 training.

Here's the different modules you get in this course:

  • Module 1: Direct Response Marketing
  • Module 2: Principles Of Copywriting
  • Module 3: Principles Of Ecommerce
  • Module 4: Ecommerce Success In The Real World
  • Module 5: Mindset Training
  • Module 6: Your B.O.S.S. Build Delivered
  • Module 7: Market Research
  • Module 8: Creating Your Shopify Store
  • Module 9: Order Fulfillment + Customer Service
  • Module 10: Get Ready To Run Facebook Ads
  • Module 11: Facebook Ads Basics
  • Module 12: Creating Your Facebook Ads
  • Module 13: Setting Up Your Facebook Ads
  • Module 14: Facebook Ads Testing Strategy
  • Module 15: Facebook Ads Scaling
  • Module 16: Hiring Your First Employee
  • Module 17: Optimizing For Profit
  • Module 18: What B.O.S.S. School Of business Graduates Do Next

Additionally, you get access to the B.O.S.S community where you can interact with other students and get your questions answered.

Cheaper Ecommerce Course ($47)

This course is on another domain separate from Blue Ocean Ecommerce and doesn't really have a name..

It's just called Ecommerce Marketing 2020.

This is a shorter version of the B.O.S.S course and doesn't come with 1 on 1 training or support.

You also get to try it for 7 days free before paying your one time fee of $47.

Additionally, there's a $19 upsell. This upsell is a 28 page PDF on finding winning products.

A lot of marketers build email lists of buyers because they're more likely to buy down the road.

I believe this course is mainly meant to lure people in with something cheap so Nate can make bigger offers down the road.

Foolproof Facebook Ads ($497)

Foolproof Facebook Ads is the third course offered by Nate.

Foolproof Facebook Ads is broken into 10 modules which include:

  • Module 1: Intro To Foolproof Facebook Ads
  • Module 2: Our 4 Step System Overview
  • Module 3: How To Craft Irresistible Offers
  • Module 4: The Down And Dirt Of Marketing Angles
  • Module 5: Creative Is King
  • Module 6: FB Ads Media Buying Crash Course
  • Module 7: The Blue Ocean Testing Strategy
  • Module 8: What Happens If Your Account Gets Banned
  • Module 9: Why Logistics Are The Key To Sustainable FB Ad Success
  • Module 10: Leveling Up

Additionally, you get three different bonuses which includes:

  • The FB Ads Terminology Cheat Sheet
  • How To Create High Converting Product Pages
  • The Blue Ocean Reading List

Only Facebook Is Taught

There's a lot of traffic sources on the internet and Facebook is one of the most popular.. if not the most popular for ecommerce.

And you can definitely make good money with Facebook.

HOWEVER..

I personally don't like Facebook Ads and I like Google Ads more.

The reason is I don't like targeting audiences and creating ads.. I prefer to target keywords.

It's just what I'm good at.

Some people are better at targeting audiences and creating ads.

The point is if you're going to teach ecommerce you should discuss multiple traffic sources.. this way people can figure out what works for them.

Only going over Facebook is a mistake for sure.

Blue Ocean Ecommerce FAQ'S

1) Are the courses worth their price tags?

I believe the cheaper ecommerce course might be but I don't think it will give you all the training you need.

You'll still need to buy additional training.

The Facebook Ads course is overpriced as well.. there's full ecommerce courses that include Facebook Ads training that costs less than $497.

B.O.S.S. is way overpriced and I definitely wouldn't recommend that you pay thousands for ecommerce training.

2) Is Nate Schmidt legit?

There's not a ton out there about Nate and I definitely can't verify if he's made millions like he's suggested.

However, he does seem to know what he's talking about and he does have a ton of different courses.

He's definitely had some success.

3) What does these courses teach?

In general terms these courses all cover ecommerce.

The cheap ecommerce course and B.O.S.S. are meant to be full training programs.. however the first is very short and the second is a much longer program.

The third course is a Facebook Ads course for ecommerce.

4) Are there any testimonials?

There's some testimonials on the sales page.

I couldn't tell you if they're real or not though.. a lot of people fake testimonials.

5) How do you pay for the course?

You can only pay with a credit card or debit card.. there's no option to pay with Paypal.

6) Is there a refund policy?

What's weird is there's a different refund policy for all the courses.

For the B.O.S.S. course it's an action based refund policy that's pretty much left up to Nate.

You need to show you followed the training and spent at least $500 on Facebook Ads.

Even then you may just get additional 1 on 1 support and not a full refund.

For the cheaper ecommerce course you have to email in the first 7 days and ask them not to charge your card.

Lastly, there's no refund policy for the Facebook Ads course which is very disappointing.

7) How much money can I make?

Some people do well with ecommerce but expecting to make millions fast would be a big mistake.

It's rare for people to hit it big right away.

This is a skill you'll need to learn and get better with.

But I believe you can make a full time income with some work.

Blue Ocean Ecommerce Pros And Cons

Pros
  • The training is pretty good: All the courses that Nate offers are pretty well made.. even the cheaper one.
Cons
  • Expensive: The one course isn't too badly priced but the other two are two expensive... with the most expensive (nearly $3000) being WAY too much.
  • Too many courses: You want to learn everything in one place.. you don't want to have to buy 3 different courses just to learn ecommerce.
  • Bad refund policy: 2 of the 3 courses have bad refunds policies with only the very cheap course having a good one. The Facebook Ads course doesn't come with a refund policy at all. I don't like recommending courses without a refund policy.
Is Blue Ocean Ecommerce A Scam?

No, I don't think so.

Nate seems to be legitimate and the courses are pretty well made.

I just think they're overpriced and I don't like that they only focus on Facebook. There's better courses out there.
