Profitable Online Store is a high quality training program from Steve Chou. It's definitely one of the better ecommerce programs out there.
The training is top notch, it's updated weekly and there's been some very big success stories.
However, the course is expensive. If you can comfortably afford it I'd definitely consider buying it.
But if $1699 is going to make or break you, I'd invest in other less expensive but still quality ecommerce training.

Steve Chou - Scam Or Legit?
Steve Chou seems like a good guy.
At the very least he's a mature and reasonable person.
This may not sound like anything special but if you've been in the ecommerce world long enouh you know the type of personalities that exist.
There's many kids (18 to 22 year olds) that just sell lifestyles.
They rent lambos and rent apartments and really just flaunt how much they make.
A lot of these people just make money from course sales too.
Steve Chou is the opposite of this.
He's married, has kids, created a 7 figure store and blog and then launched a course.

Overall Steve is smart, talented and seems trustworthy.

Steve is a pro and his training reflects that.
Overall, there's 15 modules along with some bonuses.
It's broken up into video training and PDF.

A niche is just the market you're going to enter with your ecommerce store.
For example, Steve's niche is wedding handkerchiefs and he makes 7 figures with that store.
This module will teach you how to find a profitable niche and how to assess the competition.

Module 2 is dedicated to helping you find cheap and legitimate places to get products from.
Here you'll learn about the following:

In this section you'll learn how to sell on Amazon, how to write your listings for conversions, how to attract reviews for your products and more.
Module 5: How To Create Sales Funnels
The process people go through when they buy is pretty universal.
People use sales funnels to get customers to walk through tried and true steps to make a sale.
This module will teach you about sales funnels to increase conversions.
Module 6: Make Your Business Legal
This section explores the most boring and mind numbing part of starting a business.. legal paperwork.
In this section you'll learn about all the legal mumbo jumbo and licenses you need to start a business.

Because of this the course is always going up in price.
It started at $300 and has gotten all the way up to $1699.

You don't have to jump through any hoops or anything like that.
