Ecom Insider on the surface doesn't seem like a horrible deal. You get some benefits like coaching calls twice a month, a Shopify theme and other live training.
However, there's no refund policy which is a red flag to me.
You get sold on bi-weekly calls with Tanner and the Ecom Insider team.
My guess is Tanner isn't ever really on these calls and the no refund policy protects them when customers see this.
You need to determine if you'd rather get a course with training upfront or get training fed to you over a year (which Ecom Insiders does).
I recommend skipping if you're a beginner.

Who Is Tanner Larsson?
Tanner Larsson is the man behind Ecom Insider.
He's the CEO of Build Grow Scale where you'll find Ecom Insider.
There's not too much out there about Tanner but he's apparently pretty successful and has been around for a while.
His belief is that sales funnels get better returns than stores which he talks about in this interview.
There is a Build Grow Scale Youtube channel that has just under 10,000 subscribers.
Tanner also wrote a pretty popular book called Ecommerce Evolved which teaches people how to build and scale an ecommerce store.

Overall Tanner seems like the real deal and has definitely helped people make money with ecommerce.
What Do You Get With Ecom Insider?
Ecom Insider isn't an ecommerce course and instead is training and mentorship.

Bi-Weekly Live Coaching Calls
Two times a month you will get a call from Tanner and the Ecom Insider team to go over your store and your strategy.
I've been apart of a few programs like this one and you never really get to talk to the owners.
You'll most likely get calls and critiques from team members.
Do these people even have success with ecommerce? Who knows but I think Tanner would be too busy to talk to every member twice a week.
Weekly "Facebook Ads" Training
Instead of just getting training for Facebook you get weekly live training.
This is an interesting idea.
On one hand it's going to take you a long time to learn everything in Facebook because each week will handle a different aspect.
On the other hand you'll be able to ask questions as you're learning which is helpful.
I'd definitely make sure to have the basics of Facebook ads down before joining Ecom Insiders.
Weekly Tech Tuesday Calls
These calls just go over any technical issues you're having with ecommerce.
Monthly Copywriting And Persuasion Training
Once a month you'll get training on copywriting and persuasion.
This is basically just to improve your ability to write copy that makes people want to buy.
G.S.D Reports
G.S.D. stands for Get Shit Done and this is a report that gets mailed to you once a month.
It'll have ecommerce information and strategies.
Look Over My Shoulder Monthly Newsletter
This is a monthly newsletter of what Tanner is doing with his stores and what's currently working and not working.
Revenue Optimized Shopify Theme
The Shopify theme you get is customized and built for sales. Apparently $20,000 has been put into development for this theme.
Custom Shopify Apps
Along with a Shopify theme you will also receive a bunch of custom Shopify Apps that are designed to improve conversions.
Private Facebook Group
You will get access to a Private Facebook Group as well. Here you will be able to ask questions and get quick answers.

Yearly Membership Fees
This course is not a one time fee and is instead a yearly membership.
The yearly fee is $804 and then you get access to everything I just explained inside Ecom Insider.
I'm not really sure what happens if you're using their theme and apps if your stop your membership after a year.
Keep in mind as well this is designed to last a year.
So if you're expecting to get a bunch of training that's not exactly what's going to happen.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this for a beginner because of that.
If you're a beginner you should just get an ecommerce course that gives you training up front.
This Isn't For Beginners
If you already have a base understanding of ecommerce and are already having success Ecom Insider might be worth it.
The calls and live training could be beneficial in that case.
However, I wouldn't get this if you're a beginner.
There's not really training besides the monthly live trainings.
If you're a beginner you want a course that goes through every step.
Unless you do that the training will take too long if you're a beginner.
No Refunds
This is something that's a red flag to me.
Most ecommerce programs have some sort of refund policy. Some offer 30 days and others offer 7 days but there's usually something.
However, Ecom Insider has an explicit no refund policy.
Maybe it's because you get a theme and apps with your membership but it's still a red flag to me.
You should be able to get a refund if the coaching doesn't meet your expectations.

Definitely not.
Tanner Larsson is a legitimate ecommerce expert and has been in the business for a long time.
He's created 7 figure brands and has helped other people do the same.
I just think you should be already having success if you want to join Ecom Insider. That's the only way I see you getting actual benefits here.
