Nomi Prins is a stock picker over at Rogue Economics.

She's been running a teaser with many different headlines hinting at the end of the dollar.

She sometimes calls it The Last Dollar, and other times she calls it Dollar Endgame.

Regardless of the headline, she's pushing the same thing: a report called The Escape Plan that will supposedly help you navigate "the end of the dollar."

In this post, we'll discuss this report and what Nomi is talking about.

We'll also reveal her #1 gold stock of 2023, and I'll tell you whether her newsletter is worth buying.

Let's get started!

Nomi Prins Escape Plan Summary

Creator: Nomi Prins

Newsletter: The Distortion Report

Do I recommend? No

The Escape Plan is just a special report that Nomi is using to get people to buy her newsletter, called The Distortion Report.

The report claims that paper money is on the way out and a new digital currency will replace it.

This may be the case eventually, but there's no real evidence that this is happening any time soon.

The July date Nomi references for the start of this is the start of the FedNow program.

This will affect how fast you can deposit money into your bank and is an initiative that comes from the Federal Reserve.

I keep seeing people fearmonger about FedNow and how it'll be used to bring in a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

However, I don't see how FedNow is connected to this.

Additionally, Nomi is hinting at a gold stock to invest in, and that stock is Agnico Eagle Mines.

As far as Nomi's newsletter goes, The Distortion Report, I wouldn't buy it.

It's cheap, but the results from the newsletter have been really bad since its inception.

What Is FedNow?

Before we get into the details of Nomi's presentation, I want to talk about FedNow.

I've seen a lot of stock pickers hype this event up and make it seem like the end of the world is happening in July 2023.

Obviously, the Federal Reserve invites conspiracy theories because of how it operates.

It seems completely unaccountable and has vast, unimaginable amounts of power.

So people will naturally be skeptical of anything they do and oftentimes think the worst.

The bad news is that people will use your implicit fear of the Federal Reserve to manipulate and create conspiracy theories.

That's what I believe is happening with FedNow.

I've tried to research how FedNow is connected to a digital currency but couldn't find anything.

FedNow simply seems to be an improvement in how deposits and money transfers are handled.

Instead of waiting for checks to clear or transactions to clear, FedNow will ensure everything happens instantly.

So no more waiting for deposits or transfers to happen.

The second you purchase something, the money will be in your bank account.

And the second you transfer money from one account to another, it'll show up.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like marketers are just trying to scare people into buying their services.

What Is The Escape Plan?

I might not think FedNow is connected to a digital dollar, but that doesn't mean a digital dollar isn't coming.

A digital dollar would give people complete control over life.

And I think we can all agree that these shadowy powers wouldn't miss an opportunity to take control of our lives.

I just don't know when this can be rolled out.

I doubt the appetite is there for it now, and something big would have to happen for people to ditch paper money (think WW3 or a massive terror attack).

The powers that be would have to sell it on national security grounds or something like that.

So preparing for a digital dollar might be smart (just realize it's not happening in the next few years without a major, catalyzing event first).

The Escape Plan is Nomi's guide to navigating a future where there's a digital dollar and how to protect yourself.

She gives pretty basic advice, like buying crypto and gold to protect yourself.

But the government has banned individual ownership of gold before (from 1933 to 1974).

If this digital currency really is happening, I'm sure they'd just ban it again.

What Is Nomi's #1 Gold Stock Of 2023?

One of Nomi's main pieces of advice for guarding against this is to invest in gold.

And she claims to know the "#1 gold Stock For 2023 and Beyond."

She doesn't reveal the stock in the presentation, but she left enough clues behind to guess the company.

Based on the clues, I believe the company she's pushing is Agnico Eagle Mines.

This is one of the oldest gold mining companies, and they have mining operations in Canada, Australia, Finland, and Mexico.

They are a big company, have over 10,000 employees, and bring in billions in revenue every year.

They acquired many mining operations as a means to grow and most recently merged with Kirkland Lake Gold in 2023.

Additionally, they've been paying a dividend since the 1980s, and it's currently around a 3% yield.

Overall, this seems like a good investment.

However, the main risk is that it's strongly connected to the price of gold.

If gold prices tank, the stock market will tank as well.

Is The Distortion Report Worth It?

At the end of the The Last Dollar and Dollar Endgame presentation, have one goal in mind.

And that's to get you to buy The Distortion Report.

I don't recommend that you buy this newsletter for many reasons.

First off, Nomi has proven she's not the best stock picker.

Before The Distortion Report, Nomi ran other investing services that were poorly rated by customers.

The Distortion Report is no different.

I bought it last year to review it, and the portfolio was weak.

Almost every stock recommended by Nomi was down, and some were down around 90%.

Secondly, a predatory company owns The Distortion Report.

The publisher is Rogue Economics, but they're owned by a bigger company called MarketWise.

MarketWise owns many investing publishers and has some of the worst marketing practices I have ever seen.

This includes manipulative advertising, aggressive upsells, not allowing refunds on expensive products, and more.

To top it off, legitimate fraudsters work at MarketWise.

So this is not a newsletter I think will work well for you.

Wrapping Things Up

So that's the end of my post covering Nomi's Escape Plan.

Stock pickers love overhyping events, and I believe that's what is happening here.

I just don't see any evidence that FedNow is going to be used for a digital dollar.

It just kind of seems like an update to how deposits and transactions work, mainly just making them faster.

Obviously, we're going to make improvements to how these things are done.

I don't see a digital dollar in the near future, to be completely honest.

And if it does happen, I doubt there's too much you'll be able to do to protect yourself.

If a digital dollar comes, the powers that be will not let you buy gold, crypto, or anything like that.

If a digital dollar scares you that much, you should be buying land and learning how to grow food.

Anyway, that's just my two senses!
