If you're here you're probably wondering if this program from Aaron Jack and Jan Frey is a scam or not..

That's what this review will answer.

Below you'll find everything you need to know about this course including some background information, price to join, overview of what you get and more.

You'll know if Freemote is right for you by the time you're done reading.

Let's get into it!

Freemote Summary

Creator: Aaron Jack and Jan Frey

Price to join: $1649

Refund rate: Under 5%

Customer feedback score (according to owner): Close to 100%

Do I recommend? It depends.

Remote and freelance work is becoming more and more popular.. Freemote will teach you how to become a Shopify developer so you can do this.

I think this is a decent opportunity but I doubt you'll be able to snag a lucrative coding job from this course alone.

You'll have to invest in more training and treat this like a real career.

For some people it will work while for others I suspect will need in class teaching for this kind of stuff.

Who Is Aaron Jack And Jan Frey?

Aaron Jack and Jan Frey are the creators of Freemote.

There's really not that much out there about these two.

According to Aaron he learned how to code from an online bootcamp that cost nearly $18,000.

After that he landed himself a job as a web developer for Uber.

Now he has a thriving Youtube channel where he produces content around coding.. he has over 200k subscribers:

Jan Frey is lesser known and he has a lot of experience working for a Shopify agency.

What Does Freemote Teach?

Freemote is a course that teaches you how to code and be a web developer. The main focus is on ecommerce and Shopify.

The reason Aaron and Jan focus on Shopify is because they believe that's where the biggest opportunity is.

Ecommerce is growing and growing so I definitely understand their viewpoint.. also Shopify is the largest ecommerce platform.

Additionally, it's Aaron and Jan's belief this is the fastest way to start making money as well.

They believe this for two reasons:

  1.  There's a ton of ecommmerce/Shopify gigs on Upwork (more so than other coding)
  2. Specializing will ensure you learn a profitable skill set as fast possible.

Do I think you can make a decent career if you learn coding?

Sure.

But the idea that you'll just land a 6 figure job and work at home in your pajamas is largely a myth.

I suspect only a small majority get to that level.

It might be a good side hustle buy I'm not convinced it'll work out for most people.

There's a million ways to make money online without learning a complicated skill like coding.

I've made over 6 figures online without any special skills or without having a lot of money to start with.

Freemote FAQs

1) Is Freemote Worth $1649?

According to Aaron Jack bootcamps that teach coding will cost up to $30,000.

Do I think you're getting the same level training in Freemote as one of the bootcamps that are spread out over 9 months? No.

But if you really just want a side gig as a Shopify developer it's probably worth it.

I just wouldn't expect to walk away as a Shopify expert or to make anything close to 6 figures for a while.

2) Are the course creators legit?

There's no real third party verification for Aaron or Jan but I don't get the feeling that they're lying.

Aaron has a whole channel dedicated to coding and it would be hard to gain hundreds of thousands of followers if he was just bullshitting.

3) What do I get with Freemote?

Basically you get a course that will teach you how to create Shopify stores.

You'll get step by step training on all the things you'll need for this platform so you can get freelance jobs as a developer.

Additionally, you'll get access to a private mastermind community.

There you'll be able to ask questions and get help any time you need to.

4) Is there a payment plan?

There isn't a payment plan.. if you can't afford the course it's suggested you try Paypal Credit and pay for it that way.

5) Can I really make money coding?

"Learn to code" is one of the big mantras of my generation.

The idea is there's a million coding jobs out there and it's a valuable skillset to have.

I personally think it's a good career but it should be treated like a career... even if you're just freelancing.

You should invest in training and education so you can charge more for your services.

I'm not sure this is something where you take one course and you're good to go.

6) Is there a refund policy?

Yes there's a good refund policy.. you get 30 days to get your money back and it's no questions asked.

7) Are there better alternatives?

Yes there's many courses out there that will teach you how to make money from home.

Freemote Pros And Cons

Pros
  • Good business model: I like that this course focuses on a specific kind of coding (Shopify and ecommerce) instead of something just broad. There's a lot of money in specializing.
  • Decent price: In terms of courses that teach making money online it's not the cheapest but it is pretty fairly priced compared to other coding courses.
  • Good refund policy: 30 days to get your money back is pretty much the best you can hope for in terms of a refund policy.
Cons
  • Will need more training: I don't think you can just take this course and land lucrative gigs. I personally believe you'll want more training.
  • Takes time to learn: This isn't something you can goof around with.. you'll need to seriously study and learn the art of coding if you want to succeed.
Is Freemote a scam?

No, definitely not.

This is a legit course that comes from two people that are experts in the coding industry.. plus freelance coding can make you money as well.

It just doesn't seem like an easy way to make money online to me. This is something that's going to take serious time to learn.

Here's A Better Opportunity

If you're dead set on being a Shopify developer this course could work but if you're just looking to make money online I'd look elsewhere.

I've made hundreds of thousands online and spent the last few years reviewing all the top courses that teach making a living on the internet.

  • I like how you promote the idea of affiliate marketing when it is less likely to succeed than a hard skill like coding.

    • Coding is a career.. if you want to pursue that as a career do it. Affiliate marketing can be done on the side and is much less complicated. Depends on what you want and your situation.
