100K Amazon Profits

1) Introduction:

Welcome to 100K Amazon Profits!

This course is the exact strategy I used to go from living at home with zero dollars (literally) to making over $100,000 on Amazon in 18 months.

This course isn't going to just give you vague or broad tips that you've read a million times before. Instead it's based around a very specific keyword strategy which I'll get into a little later.

I've taught this strategy to a few other people and they've all had success with it as well. I've personally used this strategy on my last 3 websites and have gotten the following results:

  • First website (when I first tested out the keyword strategy) I got to over $2,000 a month in 6 months.
  • Second website: I got this site to over $5,000 a month in 7 months and then sold it for $40,000.
  • Third website: I got this one to over $2,000 a month in 6 months and then sold it for $30,000.

I basically put no money into these sites either besides spending a couple hundred on the second and third sites for content.

This strategy is essentially free to try and really will only cost you time. My only piece of advice is to go through the training completely before doing anything. Then go through the training again and follow what it says.

Before I dive into the actual strategy let's talk about what you're going to need to make this work.

**NOTE: You will get access to the two bonuses in a couple of days. I want you to thoroughly go through this training before moving onto the next two bonuses. I will email you when they're open (most likely tomorrow). Please check your SPAM folder if you don't get an email from me in the next two days.

2) What You'll Need To Get Started:

The great thing about starting an online business is you don't need much money to get started (if you do it right). In fact, I started with basically zero dollars.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Laptop: The laptop I used when I got into affiliate marketing had 8 buttons missing, had to be plugged into to work and would just shutoff randomly. As long as it turns on and gets internet connection you're good.
  • Website: You can start a website on WordPress for free or pay $5 per month for some extra features.
  • Hosting: Hosting is what keeps your website online and there's inexpensive options like Hostgator for as low as $2.75 a month.
  • Domain: A domain is the name of your website (like the one you're on now is TheAffiliateDoctor.com) and it costs about $10 per year to buy a domain.
  • Keyword tool: A keyword tool allows you to check how much traffic and competition certain search terms get. There's paid and free options for keyword tool. If you're low on cash you can use Google's Keyword Planner for free.
  • 15 hours a week atleast: Creating the content it takes to be successful takes some time and you'll need at least 15 hours a week focused hours a week to make this work in a reasonable time.

If you want a single place where you get a website builder, hosting, a domain service, a keyword tool (as well as the best affiliate marketing training and a community of a million affiliate marketers), you should check out Wealthy Affiliate. It's free to try and is worth every penny.

3) An Overview Of The Strategy

If you're an absolute beginner and don't know what the terms SEO, keywords, long tail keywords, WordPress or anything like that means, don't worry. I'll fill you in on all of this in the upcoming sections.

I just want to give you an idea of the strategy you'll be using and why it's successful.

In the summer of 2016 I had been working on my first affiliate marketing website for over a year and made nothing. I was cranking out 3000 word articles every single day and getting no results.

I decided it was time to make a radical shift in how I approached content creation and after digging into my analytics I figured out my problem - I was picking the wrong keywords.

You see I was writing excellent content and I always made sure to be more thorough than all the competition but Google doesn't necessarily look at that when ranking articles.

Google looks for authority. So if you write a 5000 word guide on a subject that's semi competitive and your site is fairly new you won't get rankings. Even if it's the very best it won't matter. Google will reward a site that's been around for 10 years even if the content isn't as good.

Google caters to larger corporate websites in general as well.

I was determined to make this work and scoured the internet to find a solution and then after months of searching I found the answer in this article: http://www.viperchill.com/google-traffic-2016/

The person who wrote that article makes millions a year as an internet marketer and he made a discovery: keywords that had the year in them brought him the most traffic.

A light bulb went off in my head! I knew this was how I could start beating big websites.

You see when you're targeting a keyword with the year in it, the competition is extremely low because the search results essentially reset every year while other keywords may have the same results for multiple years in Google.

I then had another breakthrough when I came across an article written by a successful internet marketer. Unfortunately he deleted the website where he talks about his strategy but I can still explain it to you.

This person discovered writing lengthy buyer guides (best of lists) brought him a lot of traffic and made him a lot of money. He decided to write a bunch of best of lists, link the products to Amazon and he ended up making over $20,000 a month doing this.

I decided to combine both ideas into a new strategy and create buyer guides that got traffic with the year in them. I created a new site in August of 2016 and by December 2016 I was making over $2,000 per month.

Bingo!

I went on to make two more websites that got even better results in the same time period.

In this course I'm going to show you step by step how to create websites like that and how you can make thousands a month with this strategy. I'll teach you which niches (markets) work, how to find hundreds of best of lists, tips to rank better and more.

In the bonus sections I'll even teach you how I made thousands with this strategy on Youtube and how you can get a full time writer who writes 2,000 to 3,000 words a day 5 days a week for just $400 a month.

By the time you go through everything you will have all the training to make a profitable website and to earn some serious money.

4) Affiliate Marketing And Search Engine Optimization:

If you already have some experience in affiliate marketing and know what search engine optimization is you can skip this section. This section is for people that are new to affiliate marketing and have basically no idea what affiliate marketing is.

Affiliate marketing is a method of making money online. Essentially you build up an audience, recommend products to that audience and earn a commission on every sale. You don't deal with customers, shipping, billing or anything like that.

Watch this video below to learn more about affiliate marketing:

Affiliate marketing is not only one of the best ways to make money online but in general. The benefits are endless:

  • You get to set your own schedule and work when you want
  • You don't have to deal with returns or anything like that
  • You can make money while your sleeping
  • You can outsource a lot of the work and work less than 10 hours a week
  • You can make a ton of money and some people make millions a month

I've tried other ways of making money online but affiliate marketing is by far my favorite way.

The most important part of affiliate marketing is building your audience and getting traffic to your affiliate links. This training teaches you how to build an audience with content creation (blogging) and search engine optimization (SEO).

SEO may sound complicated but it's very simple - it's essentially figuring out how to rank content you write to show up on page 1 of Google and other search engines.

You see Google is run by a "secret" algorithm and if you understand what Google looks for you can create blog posts that show up on page 1 of Google.

If you're a little confused this video below should clear things up for you:

Basically you pick a keyword (in our case it will be best of lists with the year like "best basketball shoes 2019" and we'll create a post around that keyword.

In this post you would research the top 10 or top 15 basketball shoes on the market, rank them and write a description for each shoe.

If you write a good article Google will reward you with a 1st page ranking and thousands of clicks per month of FREE traffic.

Your goal is to write as many best of posts in a niche (market) possible and score 1st page Google rankings. Ranking best of lists with the year in them is easy because they're very low competition, which improves your odds of page 1 rankings.

Before you can do all that, you'l need to create a website. If you're new to affiliate marketing and think building a website is time consuming and takes special skills your wrong.

You can build a website in about 30 seconds and with 4 clicks.

5) How To Build A Website The Smart Way

I was fortunate enough to find a very good affiliate marketing community that has every single tool a person would need to succeed with affiliate marketing. This place is called Wealthy Affiliate

Wealthy Affiliate not only has top of the line training but you get a website builder where you can create a website in under a minute, hosting, a community of 1 million people to help you, support, keyword tool to figure out which keywords get traffic and more.

If you want to watch my full review of Wealthy Affiliate and why it's a good idea to join, click below:

6) How To Build A Website The Free (Basically) Way

Wealthy Affiliate makes building websites and succeeding very easy but not everyone can afford paying the $50 per month after the free trial and 1st month membership (which costs $19) is up.

When I started out I had almost no money to spare and I made it work but I know not all people can.

If that's the case don't worry. You can essentially build a website for free.

The best way is to create a website on WordPress. Watch this awesome video below that'll take you through all the steps it takes to create a website at WordPress:

You can create a website on WordPress for free but it will not be a .com and instead will look like this yourwebsite.wordpress.com.

In order to have your own .com website (which you'll definitely want to do) you'll have to pay $5 at the minimum:

That's not the only monthly cost you'll experience.

You'll need website hosting and this is pretty inexpensive. You can get good hosting for about $5 per month and popular hosting companies include:

  • Bluehost
  • Hostgator
  • Siteground
  • DreamHost

Anyone of these hosting companies can work for you.

7) Picking A Keyword Tool

In order to find which "best of lists" you should target, you need a tool that'll show you how much traffic that keyword gets and its competition.

There's plenty of keyword tools that cost over $100 per month and I don't think it's necessary to pay that much. Personally I use the keyword tool at Wealthy Affiliate (it's part of the membership there).

Again, though, some people will be on such a tight budget that they need a free keyword tool. If that's you you'll want to use the free keyword tool that Google created called Google Keyword Planner

This is a very powerful tool and it's pretty simple to use and understand. This video does a good job explaining how to use the tool:

Before you can access the keyword tool you'll need to sign up for Google Adwords. If you don't know how to sign up for Google Adwords, click here

If you can afford the Wealthy Affiliate membership I would do that because you get so many extras but if you're just looking for a free option the Keyword Planner can work.

8) Sign Up For Amazon's Affiliate Program

Amazon allows you to make money with them if you sign up for their affiliate program called Amazon Associates. When you sign up to be an Associate you get the ability to create affiliate links to Amazon and products on Amazon.

Amazon tracks the sales you make through that link and you get a percentage of that sale (usually between 4% to 8%).

Another cool thing about being an Associate is you get credit for all purchases made within a 24 hour time period of someone clicking on one of your links.

This means if someone clicks on your link and decides to buy a completely unrelated product (say like a TV) you get a commission on that sale too.

I've had people purchase $1500 drones, $2000 laptop and more.

Watch the video below to learn how to sign up for Amazon's Affiliate Program:

After you sign up for Amazon's Affiliate Program you'll want to sign up for Amazon Site Stripe. Amazon Site Stripe is a tool Amazon provides that allows you to create affiliate links very easily.

Here's a video explaining how this tool works:

9) How To Pick A Niche (Market)

A niche is the market your website will be in and selecting a niche is one of the most important steps in affiliate marketing. Many people get this part wrong and are doomed to failure because they don't understand the principles of selecting a niche.

Since we're going to be monetizing our website with Amazon you have to pick a niche that works well with Amazon.

Some affiliate programs give you 50% commissions. This means if someone clicks on your link and makes a $100 purchase, you would get $50.

But with Amazon you're only making between 4% and 8% per sale. This means if someone purchases a $100 product through one of your links you would only get between $4 to $8.

You may be asking yourself "shouldn't I just sign up for the affiliate program that offers 50% commissions" and the answer is not if you want to use the strategy I recommend in this training.

Best of lists bring in thousands of clicks per month and I've had single best of lists get 10,000 clicks per month and make me thousands per month.

Amazon is the only affiliate program where you can make good best of lists because there's so many products to choose from.

You'll get so many visitors and people trust Amazon so much that you'll make good money even with the smaller commissions.

So when picking a niche for this strategy make sure to follow the following rules:

  • There has to be a lot of best of lists that get traffic (preferably over 50 and even better if over 100).
  • Average price of product must be over $80.
  • Has to be a product people would actually buy online (no one is going to buy a patio set or shed online - people like to see that stuff in person).
  • Must be broad but not too broad. For example, outdoors would be a great niche but hiking pants would not be.
  • Stay away from niches dominated by large corporate websites. You'll never rank a keyword like best laptops 2019 on Google.

There are hundreds and possibly thousands of niches that fit this description on Amazon.

A good way to find niches is to go to Google and type in "amazon best sellers" which brings you here

On the side you'll see a ton of different niches you can make a website about:

Just do some research and figure out which niche is right for you.

Here's a few niches that I've researched in depth that are perfect for this strategy:

Bedroom Niche

This is a niche I really love and there’s affiliate marketing websites in this niche that get millions of clicks per month. Plus, a lot of the products that you’ll be writing about cost well over a $100 and this particular niche gets a commission rate of 8% on Amazon.

Finding keywords is pretty easy too.

First you’ll want to check out the bedroom section on Amazon and look at the various categories:

You’ll see different blankets, mattresses, pillows, mattress pads, lamps, bedframes, different alarm clocks, furniture and more. You’ll want to check out large mattress retailers to get keyword ideas too.

Now click each of those categories and dig in deep to find keywords. For example, click mattresses and you’ll see various types of mattresses.

Punch those mattresses into a keyword tool with the word best in front of it (best gel mattresses) or the word reviews at the end (gel mattress reviews) and see what you get.

You can play around with the keyword too. You can check out best gel mattress reviews or best gel mattress reviews 2019 and see what type of traffic you get. If you write the keyword “best gel mattresses 2019” you’ll rank for all those other combinations as well, which means more traffic for you.

I personally use the keyword tool at Wealthy Affiliate to figure out potential traffic for keywords. All my potential traffic estimates come from data provided by that keyword tool.

Here’s a few keywords that you’d want to target in this niche:

  • best gel mattresses
  • best hybrid mattresses
  • best innerspring mattresses
  • best latex mattresses
  • best gel foam mattresses
  • best twin size mattress
  • best queen size mattresses
  • best full size mattress
  • best queen size mattress
  • best king size mattress
  • best California king mattresses

Because there’s so many combinations (you can add the year at the end or add the word reviews at the end), each one of those keywords will get you thousands of clicks per month if you rank for them.

Another way to find keywords is to go to Google and type in “best mattress for” and just go through the alphabet to find more ideas. So type in best mattress for a and see what autophills for “a.”

Here’s an example of what I mean:

Then do best mattress for b and see what autophills for “b” and so on and so forth.

Here’s some more keywords you get from that:

  • best adjustable bed
  • best mattress for arthritis
  • best mattress for athletes
  • best mattress for back pain
  • best mattress for back sleepers
  • best mattress for big people
  • best mattress for baby

And that’s only getting to the letter b.

Now do what I just did for mattresses with all categories (mattress pads, pillows, bed frames). You’ll easily be able to find over 150 keywords.

We haven’t even gotten into individual reviews, Vs. articles, and how to’s. There’s enough content ideas to keep you busy for years and to bring in a lot of traffic.

Here’s a bunch of different successful bedroom and mattress affiliate niche sites for you to study:

The Sleep Judge:

This website does exactly what I said to do up top. They have hundreds of best of lists, reviews and how to articles.

So how much traffic do they get:

969,000 visits PER MONTH! This is site is almost completely monetized with Amazon too.

I’ve found with these types of websites you usually send around 30% of your traffic to Amazon and then 2% to 4% of that traffic converts into a sale.

So if you have 800,000 clicks a month you’re sending 240,000 clicks to Amazon. That amount of clicks may get you between 4,800 to 9,000 sales. If each sales gets you around $5 on average, you’re looking at $20,000 to $45,000 PER MONTH in commissions.

Because mattresses tend to be expensive you’re probably not going to have a high conversion rate but the sales you do get will make you a lot of money. A $600 mattress will get $48.

Now you see why I love this niche so much.

This isn’t the only website making a killing in this niche either.

Look at the site Super Comfy Sleep.

This website is pretty basic and is one that anyone with a small (or no) budget can mimic.

Its traffic is pretty good too and gets around 300,000 clicks a month:

There’s even more niche sites:

All these sites are exactly the same – a lot of best of posts, some individual reviews, some Vs. articles and how to articles.

This is an excellent niche for someone looking for a long term project where’s there’s plenty of room for growth. Also, it’s an industry that’s going nowhere. Everyone has to sleep.

Vehicle Electronics (Car, Motorcycle, Boat, RV)

The vehicle electronics niche may not have as many keywords and content as possibilities as the bed niche but the competition is less.

You can do car electronics all on its own but you might want to combine car electronics with the other options I mentioned in the title. This ensures you have plenty to write about.

You’ll want to do your research in the exact same way you did with the bed niche. Go to Amazon and go to the vehicle electronics section and start coming up with keyword ideas.

Also go to Google and just search the term car electronics, boat electronics, motorcycle electronics and RV electronics. Look for major retailers for each keyword, this way you get the most content ideas possible.

Here’s some options I found:

Here’s some good keywords I found quickly:

  • Best radar detectors
  • best dash cams
  • best backup cameras
  • best backup cameras for RV
  • Best vehicle trackers
  • Best car stereo receivers
  • Best component car speakers
  • best coaxial car speakers
  • best car alarms
  • Best motorcycle gps
  • best rv gps
  • best car gps
  • best fishfinders
  • best marine speakers
  • best marine stereos
  • best marine antenas
  • best handlebar motorcycle speaker
  • best cellphone boosters for rv

You get the idea. After you come up with more best of’s start looking for individual products to review.

This is another niche that’ll keep you busy and one you can really grow into a brand. In fact, this is the kind of website that you can eventually hire full time writers for and really earn some serious commissions.

There’s a few affiliate car and vehicle electronic websites you can study and look at too.

Car Bibles is a good example.

This website is dedicated to reviewing car electronics, car care and motorcycle products. It also has a blog that features how to and information articles.

So how many views does it get?

1.6 million views a month! You think this guy is making money?

There’s more websites too.

Car Audio Now is a website that focuses not only electronics for cars but boat and motorcycle too (guess they haven’t seen the opportunity in RV’s yet)

The traffic isn’t quite as big as Car Bibles but it’s still pretty impressive:

Car Audio Now follows the same blueprint as all the websites I’ve talked about so far. Best of’s, individual reviews, Vs. articles and how to content. Every product links straight to Amazon.

This method can be duplicated in basically any niche that’s big enough and has products that are over $100. Kind of like how a person can duplicate the success of a dry cleaner business in different towns : ).

Here’s some other examples of car websites that get 100,000’s of views a month:

And there’s more.

This niche only has a 4.5% commission rate on Amazon but if you can rank for the high traffic keywords like best dash cams, best car stereos, best backup camera and others like that, you can make a lot of money here.

Outdoors And Sports

This niche has become a little crowded over the last few years (it’s one I was in for a while and did well in) but there’s still plenty of opportunity in it.

Like the bedroom and car niche, you’ll be focusing heavily on best of lists, reviews and comparison articles.

Again, you can just go to the outdoor and sport section of Amazon and check out the different categories – you’ll see team sports like basketball, baseball, hockey and more. You’ll also see outdoor activities like hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, climbing, etc.

If you’re going to choose a niche like basketball, baseball and golf you can do the best of’s (best basketball shoes, best bbcor bats, best baseball cleats, best golf drivers, best golf shoes) and the individual reviews and comparisons posts but I’d also run a very good informational blog to build an email list.

The reason I say this is there’s good training videos that offer good affiliate commissions for each of these sports. So you make money by reviewing different equipment and by recommending different training series (how to improve vertical jump, how to hit better, how to drive golf balls better and other videos like that).

Niches like hunting and hiking/camping should mainly be about best of lists and reviews, though.

Like every other niche listed in this posy you can drive millions of clicks a month by doing just that.

One of the top outdoor websites is Switch Back Travel. This site follows the standard content strategy of compiling the years best equipment in different categories and reviewing individual pieces of gear.

They do full buyer guides as well. So you’re not only getting Switch Back Travel’s recommendations, you’re also getting information on what to look for when you make your purchase.

So how many views does a website like this get:

Millions.

You don’t have to just link to Amazon in this niche either. If you study Switch Back you’ll see they link out to Amazon, REI.com, Backcountry.com and EVO.com.

REI, Backcountry and EVO have very good affiliate programs and you can earn up to 12% on sales, based on your volume (you start at lower commission rates and as you sell more the commission rates go up).

Amazon offers a commission rate of 5.5% on outdoor products and 7% on clothing and shoes (so hiking boots, jackets and stuff like that get you 7%)

Other websites that do well in this niche include:

All these websites share the same strategy and get lots of clicks a month. New gear is always coming out too, so you’ll always have something to write about.

Shaving And Grooming

There’s a lot you can do in a niche like this. You can make a whole men’s lifestyle website and include various shaver reviews, as well as other manly content.

One thing I know for sure is you can make a lot of money if you rank for the term “best electric shavers.”

How do I know this? The person who ranked first for that term in Google shared his data and profits, which you can read about here.

This one keyword drove 32,000 clicks a month and made somewhere around 8k a month.

Do I think it’ll be easy to rank for the term best electric shavers? No. There’s some stiff competition for that term and you’re going to have to work hard to get into the top 5.

But it can be done and is very profitable to do so.

There’s other keywords you can target too like best beard trimmers, best straight edge razors and other topics like that.

One website, Balding Beards, gets over a million views per month!

So there’s definitely a market here.

I also know someone who made a grooming website and got it to 1.5k a month in a relatively short amount of time and then sold it for 25k. He then used the money to grow out more sites and eventually started Human Proof Designs – I believe he’s making over 30k a month now!

Shoes

Here is another niche that anyone interested in being an Amazon Associate will want to consider. Like the car, bedroom and outdoor niche this one relies heavily on best of posts, reviews and comparisons.

Just like those niches, the shoe niche has the potential to get millions of views per month.

Think of all the posts you can write:

  • Best running shoes 2019
  • Best walking shoes 2019
  • Best work boots 2019
  • Best winter boots 2019
  • Best basketball shoes 2019
  • Best tennis shoes 2019
  • Best steel toed boots 2019

And on and on and on. There’s literally hundreds, if not thousands of different shoes and you can make money on every single one of them.

You can also get a lot of extra traffic by putting “for wide feet” or “for narrow feet” or “for feet with high arches” too.

I once ranked for the term “best hiking boots for wide feet” and that article alone would get me 1500 clicks a month.

I also ranked for best basketball shoes 2018 (I sold this website for $40,000) and this keyword got me nearly 3,000 clicks a month.

So this is a niche with unlimited opportunity.

One website that does well in this niche is Nicer Shoes. Nicer Shoes does exactly what I described up top and makes a bunch of best of posts revolving around shoes – they do reviews too.

The traffic?

Nearly millions a month.

One thing I hope you’re noticing is the top websites in all the niches I’ve talked about get close to a million views a month or over a million views a month.

It takes a little time and hard work to reach these levels but it’s possible once you know how these sites do it. It’s all in the niche selection, keywords and quality of the article.

If you can master those three aspects then you’ll do just fine with affiliate marketing.

Another website that does well in this niche is Comforting Footwear. The thing about this website is it’s almost as basic as you can get. There’s no special effects and any person can make a website like this. In fact, most people will be able to make a website that’s better looking.

That’s good news because it gets a lot of views per month:

As you can see you don’t have to have a million dollar website to make money and get views online. Even ones that look like they were made in the 80’s do well.

10) Doing Keyword Research

Unless you’re building an email list and plan on making affiliate offers down the road, you need to find keywords that are late in the customer purchase cycle.

When people go to buy something online this is generally the steps they take:

  1. Research Phase: When someone has a problem in their life they will usually look how to fix it. During this phase a person may learn about a product that can help them solve their issue. For instance, someone may want to cut their cable bill and learn they can stream shows for free with an Android box. If you were in the cable cutting niche, you may have written a post called “How to cut cable in 2019.” You would want to make sure to get these readers on to an email list or direct them to your favorite Android boxes after you inform them these products exist.
  2. Decision Phase: After a reader has found out about Android boxes they will start to research them. They will go into Google and look up “Best Android boxes 2019,” individual reviews of Android boxes, and comparison articles between two popular Android boxes. This is where you’ll want to be as an affiliate marketer and you get these readers by writing the type of keywords I just talked about – best of’s, reviews and comparisons. In order for someone to trust your opinion you have to come off as legit and have an affiliate offer that seems legit. People will get quickly turned off by scammy looking offers.
  3. Purchase Phase: This is the phase a customer reaches when they’ve done their research, compared different products and are ready to buy. As an affiliate marketer you want to inform the person on the product they should purchase and hopefully they click your affiliate link to make the purchase. If they do, you will earn a commission and depending on the affiliate program you’re in, this can either be substantial or small.

Most likely you won’t be able to rank in google for “purchase phase” keywords. Usually retailers like Best Buy, Amazon and places like that do.

However, if you’re writing a review of a product with very little competition, you can rank for “purchase phase” keywords. For example, in the past I’ve gotten the first sport in Google for a product without the word best or review – just the product’s actual name.

As an affiliate marketer you’re going to make your money in the second phase. Like I said, you can rank for decision phase keywords by writing the following keywords:

  • Best of’s: I tend to focus on these keywords and they’ve made me a lot of money in the past. These types of posts work very well. You just rank the top 10 or so products for a keyword (“best android boxes 2019”). I like to add a buyer guide in there as well just to make sure a person knows exactly what to look for when making a purchase. I feel it builds trust too. I also ALWAYS add the year to the end of a best post. You can pick up a lot of sales and traffic by doing that.
  • Individual Reviews: I personally like best of’s more than individual reviews – I feel like best of’s give me more traffic. But reviews have their place and if you can hit on a good one you can earn thousands a month from it. Individual reviews are all about volume, though. If you’re relying on reviews for your income you better write a lot of them!
  • Comparison Posts: These keywords are getting very popular and some well known affiliate marketers are targeting these keywords a lot. Basically you’ll just want to compare top products (again using the Android box example you would just compare all those boxes against each other). I personally haven’t written a lot of these but some of my friends have and they do convert really well. When a person is comparing two products to each other they’re basically ready to make a decision about one. Write a good post comparing the two, make a recommendation and link to it!

When you create your affiliate marketing website you'll want to make use of all three of those post types but you'll really want to focus on the best of's with the year. Those are real money makers.

Here's all the steps I take when trying to find best of posts:

Go To Major Retailers For Keyword Ideas

Let’s say you’re going to make a hunting and fishing site. We’ve already established you’ll be making your money from best of’s, reviews and comparisons. The first way to find keywords in this niche is to simply type “hunting gear” and “fishing gear” into Google and click on the retailers that show up. Also, go to Amazon and check out their fishing and hunting sections.

The first website that came up for hunting gear was Cabelas and for fishing gear I got BassPro (Cabelas has a fishing section as well).

All  you’re doing now is looking at the categories and checking them in a keyword research tool with the word “best” in front of them – bonus points if the keyword gets traffic with the word “best” in front and the “year” on the end.

I’m personally going to use the keyword research tool from Wealthy Affiliate to look up data but other keyword tools can work too.

Here’s keywords that get traffic and seem to be pretty low competition:

  • best hunting binoculars 2019
  • best hunting rangefinders 2018
  • best trail cameras 2018
  • best thermal scope 2018
  • best ar red dot 2018
  • best hunting sunglasses
  • best turkey decoys
  • best ladder tree stands
  • best hang on tree stands
  • best hunting blinds
  • best hunting boots 2018
  • best hunting backpack
  • best hunting gps
  • best hunting crossbows
  • best fish finders 2018
  • best baitcasting reels
  • best spinning reels
  • best fly rods
  • best fly fishing waders 2018

And that’s not even 10% of what you can find on those websites. Each one of those keywords have some competition but nothing you can’t beat. Also, each of those best of posts have the potential to bring 1,000 to 10,000 clicks a month. Start ranking for them and you’ll get some good commissions.

After that you’ll want to look at the top products in each of these categories and write reviews and start comparing them against each other.

The amount of keywords you can find this way will likely keep you busy writing for AT LEAST a year and probably more. This is for people looking for a long term project but who also want to get over $10,000 a month in commissions.

Your work researching isn’t done yet, though. There’s more keywords to find – particularly ones that are lower in competition.

Alphabet Soup Method

In order to be an effective affiliate marketer you’ll have to find low competition keywords. This is especially true when you start off because it may take some time for the more competitive keywords to get to page 1.

One way you can “hunt” these phrases down is with the alphabet soup technique.

To do this go to Google and type in best hunting “a” (without the quotes). You want to see what autophills in Google for the letter “a” and then check the keyword’s traffic into a keyword tool. You’ll also want to do best “a” for hunting and see what autophills for that too.

Here’s what I mean:

Go through the entire alphabet and just start plugging them into a keyword research tool.

For example, let’s say you’re looking up “best hunting boots for wide feet.” According to the Wealthy Affiliate keyword research tool, this keyword will only get you 50 clicks a month but you’ll get WAY MORE than that.

You’ll rank for other terms like “hunting boots for wide feet,” “wide hunting boots,” “men’s wide hunting boots,” “women’s wide hunting boots,” and more. I think you’ll get around 1000 clicks a month for this keyword.

I want you to Google the phrase “best hunting boots for wide feet.” What do you notice?

THERE ISN’T A SINGLE POST WRITTEN FOR THAT KEYWORD!

The first page only has “best hunting boots” and not a single one dedicated to wide hunting boots. If you write this keyword you are guaranteed the first spot in Google. I have experience with these types of keywords and ranked first for “best hiking boots for wide feet” and “best ski boots for wide feet” in the past. Both of these keyword phrase brought me over a 1,000 clicks per month and the second one got me up to 5,000 clicks a month during the winter.

So whatever you do, don’t miss out on these low competition best of posts. They really add up and can bring in some serious traffic.

Spy on competitors

If you ever went to college and took a marketing class you probably remember learning about a SWOT analysis. This is a marketing technique where you look at the strengths and weaknesses of your own company and your competitors (it stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunity and threats).

In this section we’ll focus on the threats category, which is your competition.

There’s many tools you can get to spy on competitors to figure out which keywords are their best but before we look at those, let’s come up with a list of “threats” in the hunting and fishing niche.

You can do this by typing in the top keywords of the niche (best hunting boots, best fish finders, etc.) into Google and creating a list of websites ranking already.

List of competitors:

There’s a bunch more and when you go to research competitors you should create a bigger list. It’s important to study these websites and the content that ranks for certain keywords. Look at the design and how nice it looks. Find out the word count. See the quality of the products they’re linking out to.

This will give you a good idea about how much work you’ll have to do to compete in the niche.

There’s a few tools that you can use to figure out which keywords are getting the most traffic. There’s some that cost a lot of money, some that are cheap and some that are free.

SEMrush:

SEMrush is one of the most well known keyword spy tools and it’s definitely a great product to have at your disposal – if you can afford it. There’s three monthly membership options and they are $99, $199 and $399. I started affiliate marketing with literally zero dollars so I can understand if that’s too much. You can live without it if you make use of the other tools listed here.

You could always just pay for a month, do all your spying in that time period, write down your results and cancel the membership. You can also get some pretty limited data with a free trial.

Anyway, with this tool you just take the domain of your competitor and plug it in.

For example, I plugged in Pickabow.com and got these results:

This is only the results you get with the free trial but as you can “hunting bow accessories” is a keyword you’re definitely going to want to target!

Ispionage:

A cheaper option ($59 a month) to get these kind of results is Ispionage and this is a tool that I used in the past. In terms of spying on keywords, this tool is better than SEMrush.

Here’s the results I got with Pickabow:

Those results are pretty accurate too. I typed in one of my sites and the data showed my best performing keywords.

Similarweb:

Similarweb is the tool I’ve been using to estimate traffic in this guide and it’s free to use. It’s not perfect but it gets you in the ballpark of how a website is performing.

It also gives you more data and shows you the top 5 performing organic keywords.

Let’s check it out with Pickabow!

So best hunting binoculars seems to drive a lot of traffic as well as best hunting boots and best crossbow.

Alexa.com

Not to be confused with the Amazon product, Alexa.com is a website that tracks other website’s data and traffic. It’s very similar to Similarweb and is another tool that also shows the best producing keywords.

Let’s see what we get:

As you can see you’ll definitely want to write the article best hunting binoculars and best hunting crossbow – they show up a lot in these tools. You’ll probably want to take extra time on these posts.

There’s other tools like BuzzSumo that you pay for that are extremely helpful. But unless you’re making money already I wouldn’t go with the paid options. You can make do without them.

Wish, Gadgetflow and Amazon best sellers

These three websites are excellent resources for finding products that are hot or new – they’re also excellent for finding keywords that your competitors haven’t targeted yet.

Wish:

Wish is a website that dropshippers like to look at. This is because a lot of the products you find on this site are from China and dropshippers love importing stuff for cheap from China.

If you’re using this website for affiliate marketing you want to find keywords and not products (find better quality and more expensive products on Amazon after).

So go to Wish.com and type in hunting and after type in fishing.

Just look at the products and determine what keywords the products represent. Some keywords I found from there are:

  • best ghillie suit
  • best ghillie suit for bow hunting
  • best hunting axe
  • best hunting headlamp
  • best hunting jacket
  • best hunting walkie talkie
  • best grappling hook
  • best hunting knife
  • best hunting bipod
  • best fishing alarm
  • best fishing bite alarms
  • best fish scale
  • best portable fish scale

These are keywords that I haven’t thought of before and didn’t come across in my research so far!

Gadgetflow:

Gadgetflow is like Wish except with much nicer and more expensive products. You’re going to do the same thing to find keywords too. Go to Gadgetflow and type in hunting and after type in fishing.

Here’s some keywords that I found:

  • best hunting watch
  • best portable water filters
  • fish trackers
  • best compact fishing rod
  • best kayak for fishing
  • best underwater fishing cameras

I’d say Gadgetflow is best for tech and home products but you can still get some ideas in other niches like hunting.

Amazon Best Sellers:

This one should be pretty self explanatory and you can find really great products to review if you go to the best seller section for your niche in Amazon.

Here’s what the best seller hunting section at Amazon looks like:

You can just look at the top selling products for hunting or you can dig into the top sellers in different sub-hunting categories.

For example,

You can click on best selling hunting apparel, game tracking, knives and tools, hunting dog equipment (may want to do separate keyword research on this topic!), gun safety and more.

What happens when you click on those categories? You get even more categories!

Click on gun safety and you’ll see it gets broken down into gun locks and gun cabinets (two more keywords).

Click on game tracking and trail monitors and you get the categories “game and trail cameras,” “game finders,” “GPS trackers,” and “hearing aid enhancements.” Even more keywords!

You can find A LOT of keyword ideas this way (hundreds of best of lists and thousands of individual reviews) and you can do this in any niche.

Aliexpress

If you’ve gotten into Ecommerce and dropshipping, you know about Aliexpress – it’s basically China’s Amazon. People love it for dropshipping because there’s apps that allow them to re-market products from it and resell it to Americans.

They usually tack on $20 to cover the expenses of marketing the product on Facebook or Instagram. Most people don’t realize when they buy something from a Facebook Ad, they’re usually buying it from a dropshipper. They also don’t realize they could have just gone straight to Aliexpress and saved $20 by buying the product from there.

Aliexpress has value for affiliate marketers and is an excellent resource for keyword research. You’re not looking for products to review or anything like that, though. You’re looking for categories and then typing the category into a research tool to see if it gets any traffic.

So head over to Aliexpress and type in hunting. Look at all the categories you can dig into and the products that show up.

Some keywords I found in just a few minutes of research include:

  • best tactical flashlights
  • best tactical backpacks
  • best hunting vests
  • best hunting pants
  • best spotting scopes
  • best gun cleaning kits

Even more articles you can write and more opportunities for you to make money.

Keyword tool suggestions

Last on this list is where most people start – using keyword tools. I like to use the other methods with a keyword research tool and then see what type of suggestions the keyword tool gives me.

Like I said before I’m a member of Wealthy Affiliate and I get a very powerful keyword research tool with my membership (as well as a website builder, community, support, training and more!)

There’s other awesome keyword research tools available too – Long Tail Pro, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Jaaxy and more.

If you don’t have the money to purchase one of these tools just use the Google keyword planner – it’s free!

To make this tactic work just type in different hunting and fishing keywords into your tool of choice. After, scroll down and see what the tool gives you. Sometimes you can get some really good keyword ideas from this.

I went into the keyword tool at Wealthy Affiliate and typed in “best hunting jackets.” Here are some keyword ideas the tool suggested after typing that keyword in:

As you can see there’s a ton of keywords here. “Best waterproof hunting jacket,” “best bow hunting jacket,” “best lightweight hunting jacket,” “best duck hunting jackets,” “best cold weather hunting jackets,” “best camo hunting jacket,” and more.

All these ideas came from just researching one keyword too! Go through all your keywords and see what suggestions you get.

These keywords are good because they tend to be long tail and very specific. It’s usually much easier to rank for long tail and specific keywords compared to general ones.

Hopefully by this point you understand the principles of finding good affiliate keywords.

The keywords you target largely depend on your niche and the affiliate program but if you’re using Amazon or one of the other large ones, this guide should help you a lot.

I’ve used this exact strategy to build multiple Amazon sites to profit over $2,000 a month in under 6 months – on one occasion I got it to over $5,000 in 6 months.

If you can go through every step I mentioned in this guide and follow through on the keywords you find, you’ll be making good money.

11) How To Write A Best Of Post

Writing a best of post is pretty easy because you're not really going too in depth into one product and this is perfect if you don't actually own the product.

If you're going to write a individual review it's definitely more necessary to actually have experience with the product you're talking about.

A good best of or buyer guide looks like the following:

  1. Short introduction (100 words). Just let the person know what they're going to be reading about and your own expertise in the matter.
  2. A product table with a couple products. Usually before you get into all the products there's a table that highlights the very best or best values. Check out this post to see what I mean: https://www.roastycoffee.com/drip-coffee-makers/
  3. List the products with a description between 250 to 500 words for each product. After each product you'll want a "buy here" or "take a closer look" button. You can create a button and insert your affiliate links into them here: https://dabuttonfactory.com/
  4. Buyer guide section. This section goes over everything you need to consider when making a purchase. Check out the end of this article to see what I mean: https://twogolfguys.com/best-golf-rangefinder-reviews/
  5. Short conclusion (100 words).

How long your best of is really depends on how many products you're going to add and the competition. My general rule is you should try to write the most thorough buyer guide possible and always try and beat the competition.

This could mean your best of post is 1,500 words or 15,000. It all depends on the work you're willing to put in and the work the competition has already put in.

12) On Page SEO

On Page SEO is tips you can do to make sure that Google finds your content quickly and ranks you higher in their search engine.

Some top on page SEO tips include:

  • Have your keyword in the URL
  • Use your keyword in the first 100 words of your article
  • Link to older posts
  • Link to authoritative websites
  • Have a fast loading speed
  • Have a visually appealing post (not just one long paragraph that no one will want to read)

There's even more and you can see them by watching the video below:

If you follow all the tips in this video you will definitely have a good shot at ranking your posts as high as possible.

13) Final Tips

By now you should have a good idea of how this strategy works. You create an inexpensive WordPress website, get hosting, get a keyword tool, pick a niche, find best of lists within that niche, write high quality best of lists with good on page SEO, and eventually you'll be making thousands a month.

There's still a few tips I want to give you so you can maximize your success.

1) Keep Year In Title But Delete Out Of URL

When you create a title in WordPress the URL is just a copy of that title. So if you have a website called Bestbaksetballshoes.com and you write a best of post called "Best Baksketball Shoes of 2019" your URL will look like this: Bestbasketballshoes.com/best-basketball-shoes-of-2019.

You'll want to manually edit out the the 2019 part from the URL. That way when 2020 comes around you can just update the article by changing the title to 2020 and you'll re-rank for "best basketball shoes of 2020" without having to re-write the entire article.

2) Do This Strategy On Youtube

In Bonus 1 I'll show you how to do use the best of strategy on Youtube to make thousands. I made 5 videos to test this strategy out and they made over $1500 in sales. My face wasn't in them and I didn't own the products I was talking about either.

3) Write Everyday

This is a numbers game. When I first started I had a full time job and would come home and write for a couple hours. Once you get used to it you won't mind doing it but you have to create the habit of writing or making Youtube videos everyday.

4) Learn How To Outsource

Eventually you'll be making money and you'll want to outsource parts of the job to grow faster. The trick is to find quality work without paying a lot. That's where Bonus 2 comes in. I'll teach you how to find good English writers that will work full time for just $400 to $500 per month.

You can always hire part time for less as well.

5) Enable Google Analytics And Search Console/Sitemap

Google analytics enables you to see how much traffic you're getting to your website and which articles are getting the most traffic.

To install Google analytics, watch the video below:

Google Search Console does basically the same thing and helps you rank faster. To install it, watch the video below:

You'll want to install a sitemap to Search Console too. This is another way to speed up indexing times. Watch the video below to learn how to do that:

6) Stick With This

If you're expecting to find success in just a few weeks this isn't for you. It's a lot like exercising. If you workout for 2 months you'll never see results.

Stick with it for a year, though and you'll see a lot of results. The same is with affiliate marketing. The only people that make serious money are the ones you don't give up and are always learning more.

I really hope you take action on what I taught you in this guide. Making money online can seem confusing but when you stick to a proven strategy you will find success.

I truly appreciate the fact you made it this far. It took me years to really fine tune this strategy and I want as many people as possible to use it to gain financial freedom.

So pat yourself on the back for taking a major step towards freedom and start researching some niches and keywords now!
