Who Is Ryan Deiss?

Ryan is an entrepreneur and the owner of a lot of different marketing companies. 

There's not really much controversy or anything like that with his story.. it's actually pretty typical.

He started internet marketing back in 1999 in the early days of the internet and didn't want to live the 9 to 5 life.

After getting rejected from the business school at his university he decided he would make it full time with online businesses. 

Over the years he did exactly that.

His biggest company is DigitalMarketer which now has over 120 employees.

That's the first of company we'll look at.

DigitalMarketer Overview

DigitalMarketer is Ryan's biggest company and this platform has a lot of different courses and memberships for sale.

I'm not going to go over everything because there's literally hundreds of offers here.

Instead I'll look at the categories and popular products.

DigitalMarketer Lab

The DigitalMarketer Lab is a monthly membership where you get access to all the workshops and playbooks offered at DigitalMarketer.

The Lab allows you to access these training instead of buying them separately which is also an option.

You get to try it completely free for 14 days and then have to pay $95 per month after.

Here's the various playbooks that you get:

• Facebook ads 
• Google ads 
• Email follow-up campaign 
• Writing sales boosting bullet points
• Landing page builder
• Promo calendar
• Product launch 
• Funnel builder

• 1 minute Facebook video ad

And more. You basically get small training courses that cover every aspect of digital marketing and internet marketing and are $27 each if you buy them separately from DigitalMarketer Lab.

The trainings are decent but they're short. You'll probably need to invest in more thorough training on certain topics like Facebook and Google if you want to make money with these platforms. 

You also get various workshops too. Workshops are like playboks but are taught by various popular internet marketers.

For example, there's workshops from Billy Gene Is Marketing and Ezra Firestone.

These are courses that are separate from the DigitalMarketer Lab and you can only buy them one at a time.

DigitalMarketer claims by taking these courses you'll be a certified expert in the field the courses cover.

I don't really know how true that is.

Overall I think these courses are overpriced and you can find courses just as good for a fraction of the price for each topic.

Scalable Overview

Scalable is one of Ryan's newest companies and it's for people that have a company already.

What Scalable does is help existing businesses scale.

Scalable has a membership program called Insider that costs $10 per month or $95 per year.

This is a training program where Ryan Deiss walks you through the 3 step process of scaling your business.

This is an ongoing resource list that goes over different tools, resources and frameworks that Scalable uses. 

Scalable Podcast

The Scalable Podcast is a series of conversations and interviews Ryan Deiss does with other successful internet marketers.

Private Facebook Group

The Facebook Group is a place for you and other members to interact and get your questions answered.

Monthly Founder AMA

This is where you get to ask questions directly to the Scalable team once a month.

This is a list of business books that are worth buying. You can also access Scalable's notes on the books as well. 

Ryan Deiss FAQ's

1) Is DigitalMarketer worth its price?

It really depends how you look at it.

The Lab isn't priced badly and you get to try it for free for 14 days. 

However, buying the workshops separately would be too expensive. Those courses in my opinion aren't worth several hundred dollars.

Additionally, the certification courses are overpriced as well. There's much cheaper courses out there that cover each topic. 

2) Is Scalable worth its price?

Scalable is very reasonably priced.. $95 per year is good for what you're getting. 

Although once you go through the training I'm not sure how much value you'll get from the rest of the program.

3) Is Ryan Deiss legit?

I think so.

He's built a very popular and large marketing company in DigitalMarketer.

He's clearly an expert in what he does.

4) What does Ryan's training cover?

You basically get all things digital and internet marketing.

At DigitalMarketer you can pretty much find a training on anything that has to do with those topics.

There's training on Facebook, Google, video ads, SEO, homepage design, landing page design, email marketing and more.

Scalable focuses on scaling existing businesses. 

5) Is there a refund policy?

In the terms and condition section for DigitalMarketer you can see there's a 30 day money back guarantee. 

This is a good refund policy and as good as you can expect.

Same with Scalable.

6) Do the courses get updated?

I'm not sure that the courses get updated but there's constantly new courses being added.

For example, in DigitalMarketer Lab you'll get more playbooks over time.

In Scalable you'll always get an updated list of books and tools that are worth using.

7) Are there any alternatives?

Yes, there's many digital marketing courses and memberships out there.
